Overview

Maddy B. has completed photo analysis for oyster growth at the Sequim site from the 05/31/2026 assessment. This brings analysis of Sequim growth up to date with the most recent assessment.

There are two projects deployed at Sequim Bay: 1) PolyIC cross-generational immune priming projecct and 2) thermal hardening project (Effort A).

In the PolyIC project, parent broodstock were immersed in PolyIC and performance is measured on offspring outplants over the last 2 years.

In the Effort A thermal hardening project, we exposed USDA general excess oysters to two weeks of daily exposure to ~6 h of +10°C conditions and deployed alongside controls.

tl;dr

There was no effect of immune or thermal hardening treatments on field growth.

PolyIC cross-generational project

There was no effect of treatment, only an increase in size with time.
