Overview

Today I started Effort A survival trials in the lab (round 1 of 1) and transported oysters from Goose Point to UW.

Survival trials

I started trials according to our previous protocols for the Effort A project. There is only 1 round of trials for this group because there were only two treatment groups. Total sample size is 37-38 per group. All oysters were used.

  • Cups 1-37 are Treated Effort A
  • Cups 38-75 are Control Effort A

All cups were loaded with 30 ppt water and added to the incubator (completely full) at 10:30am. I took initial temperature measurements and size measurements and added it to our datasheet.

I used all of the Effort A oysters.

I also cleaned up the remainder of the last 10K oyster round of survival measurements and uploaded data to GitHub. I’ll start a new round of data collection for the Effort A project on GitHub.

Transporting oysters and consolidating tanks

I transported 4 bags of Effort E Goose Point oysters to the tanks in FTR. I rinsed them all and put them in the right FTR blue tank.

I consolidated the remaining 10K oysters leftover and put them all into two red bags in the yellow bin. These are extra oysters that anyone can use.

I cleaned and left Hobo loggers from the field by the sink in FTR 213.
